September Hatch-a-long!

May I ask why? Is it personality reasons? I had very high hopes as so many people rave about their Australorps but I just can't seem to feel the love (yet?)

No, she's a good bird, and the Splash is the rare color of this breed. I was working with the B/B/S Australorps but this is the desert and I wanted to work with the Naked Necks, and some of those White Breese instead. I guess I can just breed her to the Naked Neck roo for now. I also have 2 of the Blue Australorp roo's, but I don't want to do the Australorps anymore, so will most likely be butchering them soon. I tried to give them away for free here in the free re-homing section, but no no takers. They are good boy's, and it's too bad that they will end up in the soup pot.

Hello all :) I actually hopped on here to reassess my chicken math, get some coop ideas, cuz I have eggs in 2 bators that are due to hatch around Aug 26th  I've been just dying to hatch Serama eggs since I read about them a few months ago, and I tried shipping some from too far away, none of them made it through the post :hitLuckily I took lots of pics and the post refunded all my money. While I waited, I thought I would try an experiment... I have a tiny bantam old english game roo (Lil Britches), four fluffy gold orpington ladies, and two rir girls. I put 6 orpington eggs in my Mini Brinsea about 10 days ago, I'll be checking tonight to see if Mr. Britches was successful :p Then I bought 12 serama eggs from a different breeder, closer location, and they turned up absolutely beautiful. Only one with a saddle, and she sent me 3 extra, so possibly fourteen good eggs :celebrate Tonight will be day 3 in the incubator... I'm waiting to candle these babies till day 10, I can't wait !! :fl:fl Good luck to everyone else's hatches :jumpy:thumbsup
