SEPTEMBER HATCH-A-LONG!!!

Pics
I've had a first time layer australorp (about a month as well) go broody 2 days ago. Problem is rooster hasn't been doing his job. So I chucked pycho broody australorp in with pycho baby making silkiexfaverolle and they are getting along swimmingly. So looks like I may have a chance at a second September hatch. And also a unique looking bunch of chicks :idunno
That sounds like quite the interesting mix. I wonder if since it's a poly hybrid if the silkie feathers are going to come through in the offspring. I'll be very interested to see them.

They'll either be extremely cute or a crime against nature. Will see what happens.

Maybe the change of scenery by moving her made her change her mind about being broody?
I don't think she knows what she's doing, first time layer. She still spends most her time sitting.

:lau:lau A crime against nature? The only chickens that were a crime against nature that I ever met were mean roosters. :lau:lau
this is true!

What breeds did you set?
My friend breeds snowbirds and she gave me some bantam old English. The rooster on those hens just won 3 awards at the fair, including best of show, so I'm hoping for some pretty good looking birds. Then she gave me either buff brahma or silver laced wyandotte, I cant remember. Then I've got some from my own flock of Rhode island reds and one australorp.

So here's a couple questionable eggs in my batch right now. I cant see the air cell in 3 of them, and one of them looks partially developed. I put it in there just because I've read about other partially developed eggs being successfully incubated. What do yall think?

These are the ones I couldn't see the air sac in. 3 eggs, 2 pics of each egg. They look like they all came from the same hen

This is the one that looks developed. The pics aren't so good cuz it wasnt quite dark, but it is now, so I will get a couple better ones in a bit before bed.
