September Hatch-A-Long!

Wow, interesting variety, I want to see pic of them when they hatch so bad....never seen Peacock babies before or Muscovies...

No worries...lol...this proud momma will post pics bc this is my 5th attempt @ incubating, and hopefully ive got it down for
a sucessful hatch this time...still have all limbs crossed.n praying daily

my incubatoer has no added water and it keeps getting levels of 50%+ i have no idea how to lower it anymore.

Have you tried rice? They say to stir it once a day bringing dry rice to the top.
Everyones humidity is different for the area they live in and the room the incubator is in. I am lucky to have a basement that keeps a constant temp and humidity. With that said my room humidity runs 45-47% and my incubator I keep 30-35%. Then on day 18 I can get mine up to 60-65%. My hatches have not been too wet or too dry.

just got done doing candling did all 35 of the first ones i put in and saw 29 had veins!! so eggcited lol tomorrow i can candle the other 10 (i put in a day later than the others.) and see...
and i think most of the ones i couldnt see anything where due to the shell being thick and or dark i am afraid that about 3 are infertile but im gona give them time to see if maybe there just late...
i need a good camera so i can show off pics lol.

I have some Silkies hatching around the 7th September and another batch of Silkie eggs I just ordered. This will be the last ones for this year or I get in trouble with hubby. LOL

This will be my second time hatching. I did everything totally wrong the last time, so I'll do everything right this time.

When I started hatching I did a lot wrong, even when I did a bunch of research before I set the first eggs. And even now I still feel like a newbie, but it is getting better all the time. And I think a big part of it is, that I only hatched shipped chicken eggs. But soon my first Silkies should start laying. I can`t wait till they do :))))

i'm starting not to feel like such a newbie. The feeling is fading :)

I put it in with a EE yesterday, 15 eggs in the incubator :)
If the "double Yoker" hatches with two live chicks- I could get 16 out of 15 eggs :) :) :)

How's the double yolker developing?
