Quail are set for hatching on the 4th and chickies due to follow on the 7th. I'm a little worried this time though as I only saw movement in 3 of my 14 chicken eggs.... I was expecting more of a show tonight!

Both of my hygrometers are accurate, and on one side of the bator it's 45%, and the other side is 35%. :/ It was too high but I made two more vent holes and ran the dehumidifier for an hour and now it's in acceptAble range. But the large difference puzzles me. I was gonna do a dry hatch but it's sooo humid I'm having trouble keeping the humidity down without any water!

I have the exact opposite problem. It's so dry where I live that I have problems reaching over 60% humidity for hatching.

One of the chicks started zipping about 3/4" then started again on the other side about an inch. Skipped the part in the middle. Silly little chicken.

Day 14!!!! I just candled the 6 I have left. I saw a foot moving!!!!!!! Just in one, but the air sac still looks good in all, I can tell the "blob" is bigger. Lol I think I saw some movement in 1 more, but not positive. The foot was soooooo neat though, & one of my daughters even got to see it! :)

Have you tried rice? They say to put in a shallow dish and turn daily. Bring rice on bottom to the top. I also have heard people use those packets you get in pills that absorbs moisture.
