September Hatch-A-Long!

On day 3 of my first hatch. 12 eggs in a LG and the temps are driving me crazy. 4 thermometers and none read the same. I have no idea what the actual temp is!!! These are the longest days ever....just keep me sane till day 7 so i can candle!

Just set 7 Serama eggs. Hoping for a good hatch, last was only had 1 hatch normally and 1 hatch assisted so hoping for a better hatch! This is my first time hatching out of my own stock so I'm really excited :)

So I checked my temps for my bator and my eggs were at 110f degrees for probably close to an hour! Will that definetly kill them??? :(

If it's any consolation, I had 15 going in a wonky homemade coolerbator and on about day 7, I woke up to the temp being over 110. It could have been that way for up to 5 hours without my knowing. I was devastated. But it's now day 17 and 9 of the 15 are still kicking! They're hardy little things. While obviously temps that high should be avoided at all cost, remember that the temp inside the egg doesn't fluctuate nearly as much/quick as outside temps, so it probably wouldn't have gotten that high inside the shell in an hour. Keep them going and candle as normal. Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck!! My first attempt was 15 seramas and I got a whopping 0. They were shipped, though.

Thank you and its good to see some success stories! This is my fist time and I have this bator at perfect temps for a week before I even purchased eggs. It doesn't have a fan so I've been running it at 100.5-101.5, but yesterday it spiked to 102 and I got it down and level again. Today I've been checking on it at least once an hour and it was fine, went outside to do something and came back not even an hour later and it was 110! I opened it and dropped the temp and moved it to a cooler area of my house but now its 99f. I was fine for a week, now I'm 5-6 days in and having issues, and my house temp hasn't changed once.

Got 14 healthy chicks so far. So almost %50 and day 21 isn't till tomorrow actually. Already better than last months hatch. These were my eggs this month, same as my June hatch which did very well. Last month I used eggs from elsewhere which kinda confirms what I thought, better to use your own if possible cause you know how handled, collected, fertility, etc.
