September Hatch-A-Long!

Hi,
Just a quick note to say.how sorry I am to those who lost chicks recently.............

There are just so many things that could be wrong that we cannot see.............
I am sure this happens in a natural setting also but we do not witness it.

Also.............

on the hatches...........
I'm in a holding pattern............14 in the incubator.going to try to give my broody
1/2 of them today....She does not want to give up her golf ball and I am afraid it
will cause damage to the eggs.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah I have a whole new pack of bulbs just in case. Another question though. My two chicks from my August hatch (about a week old) are in the brooder and one seems to have some balance problems. Her head is constantly vibrating back and forth and she falls over a lot. Any idea what this is? I'm worried about her but she is eating and drinking...
HI,
I do not know what the problem is.You may want to post in the illness, disease thread.
I did however have a chick like this last year.....Thought he was toast for sure.
I gave the Poly-sol childrens vitamins...three drops a day using the dropper
that comes in the bottle. I held him and put the drops on the side of his beak.
It was a week or so before I saw results. The poly-sol
that does NOT have iron....................Good Luck............

I saw movement in two of my 8 eggs. Two days ago we are in day 19 and 20. And haven't seen movement since then. Temps have been fluctuating ... Should we be worried? I did grab one quick yesterday to candle it, but so dark I could not see anything besides the air cell.

I had 7 eggs under a broody and 8 in my incubator. They have all hatched under the hen. But in the incubator only 3 have hatched and the other 5 eggs have no pips yet?!? Today is day 21 so there is definitely still time. I was hoping to put all chicks under the broody but she is ready to take her 7 chicks out and run about....
