HELP! My 2nd chick just hatched. Its still attached to the egg by what looks like an umbilical cord or something. And the chick that hatched last night is pecking at whatever has it attached?
It fell off. The chick bleed just a little, but I think it is ok. Had to open and take chick one out, it was hurting the new 2.Quote:
I assume you've handled this already...it is an umbilical cord!
one of my chicklets is deformed! it's got a gimpy leg!
and only 2 toes

I thought about trying to bind it but from the knee joint down it's flimsy and shorter than the normal foot...if it survives, hopefully learns to walk, it will stay with us...the others are for sale...they are beautiful buff laced brahmas
sweet little baby
Oh goodness, I am dealing with the 2nd to the last chick that hatched who has severe curly toes and her feet roll onto the outsides if she tries to walk. I've gone through 4 pairs of shoes already and she keeps twisting right out. Right now her feet are taped to the tops of those glass half marble things like little goth boots...and only 2 toes
not only does it look okay when it starts making it's hole that big it's getting ready to zip!! let us know![]()
