September Hatch-A-Long!

I have 5 beautiful babies! I have 2 that are very dark, one is still drying. I have one I think is grey, one white, and I think a Lavender(self blue)

Day 12 for me. Last night I took 3 quail eggs out. 2 were infertile and 1 was stinky. That leaves me with 19 and all 14 of my chicken eggs are still doing great!

Not much news here................tried to move my broody to a larger nest in order
to facilitate the shipped eggs that arrived.
She will not have any of it..............is happy in her little nest and golf ball........grrrrrrrrrrrrr
She is in one of those metal nesting boxes that has several nests........I hate them.
My hens do so much better in card board boxes.and are so cute peeking over the side..........
So, have the eggs in the incubator and will try again with her later when she is a little more into it.

LOL--one of my broodies decided my little square trashcan that I left in the corner of the coop HAD to be her nest box. Finally I gave up and let her keep it.

Set 18 eggs the other weekend, looking at at a Sept 15th hatch. Mix of Buff Orpingtons, some barnyard Xs and who knows what

Dry incubation, not that I have a choice with the dehumidifier that runs 24/7. Hovabator forced air, hand turning. I'll candle sometime next week and go from there (I tend to "set it and forget it" other than turning a few times a day)

i think Sara my black silie hen has desided to join in hatching for sept too. yeasterday there were 7 eggs in her nest so should be 11 in there today but i couldnt see cause she was sitting them....

i jut candled some of my serama eggs and i got to see a baby move!

most of the eggs have been the bator a week as of today the rest will be a week in tomorrow



of the other eggs i candled lots of them had tons of veins but i couldn't see the baby..and a couple look clear but i wont toss them yet

I put 10 Seramas in lockdown today along with 3 Easter Eggers.

I just turned the incubator on with 61 HRIR and marans eggs. The HRIR are shipped with the marans local. This is the first time with this homemade incubator. And first time with shipped eggs.

Omg! So I got a super good flashlight today and just went out to my nest of 8 copper marans eggs under my broody and OMG! I CAN SEE THEM DANCING! WHOOOHOOOO! this is my first hatch ever and boy am I sure happy! They look so happy bobbing and dancing around in there! I can't see into the Black marans just the Blues.

what kinda flashlight been looking for a good bright one if you don't mind me asking
