4 out now, 2 decided to start coming out while I was cooking dinner, thankfully no food was burnt, Lol. 10 more to go (4-5 have already pipped).
Its going to be a long evening

just got home about 20 mintues ago and surprise!  i look in the bator and 4 of the eggs that just went into lockdown yesterday are pipping!  this is only day 19 but they are shipped and the lady i bought them from says that when she hatches out serama they start at day 19 quite often.


cant wait to see what the chicks who have pipped look like when they come out

ooooh I am SO fascinated by seramas!!! PLEASE post a billion pics!

I'm determined to hatch Seramas. My first try was 0/15, so I've gone the route of buying cockerels and pullets to try breeding my own.

I'm so excited, and anxious!
So in my wonky homemade incubator with the 85-112 fluctuations, we added a bi-metal thermostat and a CPU fan and the temp seems to be holding between 98-99.5!! Eggs aren't even here yet and I'm anxious already! I so hope the temp holds this time around, so I get more than 2/15 from this thing!

I have had Seramas about 4 years and they are the sweetest little guys..............
We have a house Roo that lives in a parrot cage in the breakfast nook..................
He had a frizzle hen move in with him about a week ago.
I was afraid he would be so thrilled with her, that he would lose interest with my DH and I.
Much the opposite, he has taught her how to talk us out of treats
I'll post some pictures..............Oh, going to set eggs from them as soon as I get 4............
And on the shipped eggs for this breed.I have done OK..............but also have had chickens mailed in.

my hatch this week is complete
4 cream legbars
1 polish silkie
1 silkie
1 frizzle silkie
1 sizzle frizzle

5 guineas....they are already sold

expecting 3 guineas the beginning of next week....sold

and so excited....a red heritage turkey....I saw it move for the first time today!!!! due next Friday!!!!!!

I candled the eggs with the kids tonight Omg they were so excited to see baby chicks (shadows) moving around inside the eggs really makes it all worth while now I hope nothing really happens and we actually have some hatch this time or I will be breaking eggs and buying day old chicks and putting them in the bator lol. Started out with 48 and candling tonight there is 32 that have peeps in there moving around

I had quite a few clears that I will remove on Friday (day 10) and 3 or 4 blood rings so not sure what happen there. I feel so blessed that my children will get to witness such an awesome thing!! They were so excited! (I was too just seeing the look of amazement on their faces was priceless) Can't wait till the 24th!!!!
