there are a few others not doing anything but there may be hope for a couple yet...
1 silkie pipped the air then died! poor little doll
What is the difference between a frizzle silkie and a sizzle frizzle? And how do I get some?

Good luck!! Yes, do post lots of pics!
I'm determined to hatch Seramas. My first try was 0/15, so I've gone the route of buying cockerels and pullets to try breeding my own.

I just sold the Seramas I hatched last week and used the money to buy 28 more eggs. Don't give up, they are so sweet.

I candled the eggs with the kids tonight Omg they were so excited to see baby chicks (shadows) moving around inside the eggs really makes it all worth while now I hope nothing really happens and we actually have some hatch this time or I will be breaking eggs and buying day old chicks and putting them in the bator lol. Started out with 48 and candling tonight there is 32 that have peeps in there moving around

I had quite a few clears that I will remove on Friday (day 10) and 3 or 4 blood rings so not sure what happen there. I feel so blessed that my children will get to witness such an awesome thing!! They were so excited! (I was too just seeing the look of amazement on their faces was priceless) Can't wait till the 24th!!!!
Wait until you see a foot or a beak. Your kids will be so excited! It's my favorite part.

whats the best thing i can use for bedding for these little ones with all ive read im scared to use anything, after reading about the horrors of people useing things that they eat that hurts them...
and what about this chick grit stuff do i NEED it?? could i use dirt?? or will the medicated chick starter feed be fine alone?

I use plain old wood shavings (larger pieces, not the very fine stuff - and don't use cedar) in my brooders and have never had an issue. And chick grit is not necessary. The feed manufactured for chicks is ground fine enough that grit is not needed.

You can put newspaper down after the 1st week, but until then use paper towel as it gives them better grip for walking, the reason for this is that if (for the 1st week) the floor is too slick, they can get splayed legs.

Hope this is helpful to you.

I use a mix of oaten n Lucerne chaff its fine for them to pick at. Feed in feeders so it doesn't get soiled.
