September Hatch-A-Long

Out of the 4 due tomorrow I have 1 hatched, 1 half out, 1 pipped and 1 that hasn't done anything yet... I can see that one looks black/grey and one is golden colored! They are all mixed eggs. I'll post pictures when they are all cute and fluffy!

Introducing Peepers!

He/She is the only one out of 11 eggs to hatch, and his/her Momma loves him so much!

I think he is beautiful too

My second batch of eggs from my September staggered hatch have started hatching. One is pipped on the wrong end and couldn't get through the membrane so I helped a bit then covered most of the exposed membrane with a piece of her paper towel. Two other eggs showed the chicks moving into the air cells. The other two just show how much bigger the air cells managed to grow the last couple days. These eggs are the ones I rolled out of the fridge and added to help stabilize the incubator.

Good morning everyone!! My update is 1 hatched and 2 more almost done zipping and 3 more with pips! 2 of the pip ones are my 2 that pipped wrong spot. I checked them out and took some shell off just to make sure they didn't have there legs over there heads or something...lol Both eggs not quite ready since they still had some blood veins, so I moistened them and put back. Just waiting on 2 more pips from the blue side and 6 more from the blr's. Hoping everyone has a great day hatching!! Good luck to all

Are these the HennyPenny eggs?

In any event, pics for sure when they're done!

Glad to hear everyone is doing ok..

Hope the pips all turn into chicks...

I am worried here, it is cold, 50f. and raining hard, and this was the day I thought Ethel would bring me the babies.. I hope she stays hidden in the woods and keeps the babies warm until tomorrow!!

My nerves cannot handle this broody bird, hidden nest stuff!!! Next year I steal all her eggs and find all her nests and incubate them,,,,,(well, maybe not)

Good luck with the hatching. Hard to tear yourself away once it starts, eh?

Would love to see some pics when they're all fluffed out!

My Cinnamon Queen RSL's and Pat the OE hatched around the 1st have gotten so big! They're clomping around the brooder like little chick thugs. Pat and one of the CQ's have sprouted little tail feathers.

Ethel will bring them out when it is safe to do so, so just hang tight. She's doing her mommy best to maximize her brood. I hope she brings you a very pleasant surprise.... Like beaucoup poults!

The rebel (one that pipped wrong) died sometime this morning. It was a huge chick. Way to big for the shell. But on a positive note Henny Penny has another egg starting to zip! I'm going to have to watch eggs from Juliana if this chick was any indication.
