I just received a banta serama who does this little dance that looks like a bullfighter--one wing touches the ground like a cape and he slides sideways around the hen. Is this common to all rooster or this breed? It's really quite enchanting.

I think all roosters of any breed do that. All that I've had anyway. I guess they're trying to be charming for their girls [IMG]

this is a trait for all roosters to do. With production birds and hatcheries sometimes it is bred out of them. Being a serama they are not bred by any or many hatcheries yet so the trait is hardwired and strong in them. I love to watch it too.
