This helps a lot! You take such beautiful photos :). I’m going to attempt to get some higher quality photos when Nancy is a little less on edge. ;)

As for the chicks colors, so far I have three black and white chicks, one blue and white chick, one blue chick, and one black chick. The blue chick and the black chick will keep their colors I presume, but the black and white chicks will be definite surprises as they feather out!
Nancy and Sherlock are beautiful parents. It’s going to be a lot of fun seeing how the chicks feather-out! You have quite a variety of colors!

Yeah, lots of surprises ahead! Plus there are still two eggs left! One of which seems to be halfway through zipping. ;)

The other egg hasn’t pipped yet, though… Should I be planning an assist? Or do you think that it is likely to progress soon?

Do you know if it has internally pipped yet? I would candle it to see if it’s moving its beak inside the air cell. It may just be a little later to hatch. Nancy’s still keeping the egg warm, right? Continue to monitor it (candle every once in a while). Watch for the pip.

If Nancy starts ignoring it to care for the hatchlings, then you probably should let it hatch in the incubator. I’m not saying it’s what you definitely should do. Keep an eye on Nancy. I can only say that’s what I would do with 1 of mine (and I have).

If too much time passes, then you’ll know whether you may need to help. Once it’s in the air cell, you could choose to drill a tiny hole in the cell to help it out. But if it’s active inside the cell, it’s probably close to trying for the external pip. Then monitor some more. No progress, you may need to assist. Check to see where it’s at in the hatching process, and decide the next step from there.

I hope the last tiny one does well.

I candled for movement, and unfortunately I didn’t see anything. It has also not internally pipped :/. This egg was, however, the one that I had the most concern about. It got a crack likely due to either Nancy’s or Sherlock’s claw around day fifteen. I kept it in hoping that it would pull through, though! ;)

In the end, I’m rather surprised that Nancy has successfully hatched seven of eight eggs! Plus, since she’s still setting faithfully, this last little egg is getting every chance. :)

Chicks still hatch just fine with repaired cracks. Please keep us updated. 🤞

I think your little girl looks a lot like my tiny Reba! Hard to tell w the light, what do you think?

You are extremely talented! This is beautiful!
Thank you very much!
I have learned SO much from WoDia with my 2nd serama hatch & everything beyond! She is truly a serama whisperer! 😊
With every post WoDia has sent in reply to one of my many questions, I have been amazed at her knowledge about Seramas and her kindness. 😊
