I want to start of this thread by saying it isn't meant to insult anyone. It is not the average serama enthusiast's fault they were led to believe we imported Champion Serama into the U.S. when the birds were truly Kapans (a small import of real serama did occur). Please don't feel insulted as we discuss this topic, you can still love your birds. However, to eventually sort out our flocks and get on the best possible track, the discussion should take place.

I suggest reading some of his Serama vs Kapan articles. This person has been to the countries of origin and seen the imported birds, something most people do not get to do. This will shed some light on the subject for those who did not know.
One question I have is, how many people wish they had real serama vs these kapans we have now? I know a lot of misinformation has been spread by a main group promoting these "serama", such as the genetics in the background not mattering, but this is just not correct, may be a way to keep selling Kapan as Serama.
The idea of serama "being extreme" is also a fib. You could make them as extreme or not as extreme as you liked. You would just be starting with the real mmcoy, not a fake facsimile.
If real serama were imported, would people want them?
