Just wanted to add-------- for any that want to breed, are newish to seramas, or may just want to know about their backyard pets, you can send me a picture by PM and I will (very nicely) critique it for those who are learning what to look for,
or just want to know what you have.

Im just offering my opinion since Ive been doing this for a while now and love to share my obsession.

She's good at nicely critiquing Seramas! I'm learning a lot from her! Just thought I'd tell you all.

Here's a few from me. Probably too late but all in fun nevertheless.

Hero, an '07 wheaten cock bird. He's special to me because he's got a massive chest on him like no other, great type and ALWAYS in pose, unless he's sleeping. He's High Roost Ranch's mascot.

And Sir Fuzz, an '08 silkied golden duckwing cock bird. He's special because he's showing correct wing and tail type for our silkied standard.

And not to leave the girls out, this is Hero's wife, an '08 hen. She's special because she'll hopefully help me produce more wheatens with Hero.

And lastly, a little '09 cockerel just learning to pose. A Silver Pumpkin, who's name is Lanakila, which means Best or Champion in Hawaiian. He's special because he has the looks to be a really nice finished bird.

Thank you! I am so totally taken by Hero. Sure he has his faults but life with Seramas just wouldn't be the same without him.

I'm going to start AI'ing him over all my hens once I get past the Inverness show on the 14th.

Got a question.....when one says "just learning to pose" does that mean....that one has to "teach" the bird how to or does the bird come allready pre-programed??

You have to train chickens to pose. You can use small bits of food or an extendable judging stick to have them pose on cue.

Some pose naturally all the time, especially the older, more confidant birds and some that are a little unsure, need a bit of prompting.
Usually younger or non-breeding birds--and hens--benefit from some training for when you get ready to show table top.
