Quote: Really likes his sugar. Dang, time to start saving $$$ to pay for that habit. Poor kid, he's been raised on it.
Debi, the only way to get ahead? It's to get behind a while.
I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Robert really only get that sugar, the yogurt is sugar free and he loves fruit. At least he transitioned into fruit easily. The beefaroni was my fault tonight, just too lazy to cook.

Well, when we were dependent on the laundromat, we didn't do 8 loads a week. We did 3, for 4 people (bleach, cold, and everything else), plus a sheets and towels load on occasion. Underwear and socks got changed every day of course, but pants can be worn at least twice and so can some shirts. Hang stuff up immediately after school and wear "play clothes". If it was just sweaty but not dirty, rinse it out and hang it up to dry and it can be re-worn. We didn't own anything like "dog towels" (what in the world IS a dog towel anyway?) or "kitchen rugs". Blankets and comforters don't need to be washed often. Sheets don't have to be washed every week if you shower before bed. Towels for *people* can be re-used. Everyone gets their own color and just uses it again to dry off.
So yeah, if you're dependent on the laundromat, it sucks, but it is doable. Everything is a choice. When you are really broke, you make different choices from when you're "nearly" broke. When you're not used to being broke, it's hard to get used to making those choices, and sometimes it's hard to even recognize them as options. But it is possible.
I have been dependent on it too at a couple of points in my life. It was cheaper back then.......and I still did 5 loads a week for two people.......towels, sheets, darks, lights, and jeans. 6 loads when I did a bleach load.
DD has always changed clothes immediately after coming home from school. She had play clothes until she became a teenager, then it is mostly PJ pants she wore around the house.......now it is either PJs or fleece pants.
LOL @ dog towels. Sorry I forget everyone isn't as weird as I am. I have an indoor dog. She has some throw blankets, and her own pillow too
She gets a bath. She has her own "dog" towels to be dried off with. I will point out these are old "people" towels that have worn out/thin or have a hole. I have old washcloths the same way...those are used for cleaning or messy stuff like that.
DH does hang his bath towel and reuse it the next day. So he uses one twice. Washcloth once. I don't. When I had longer hair I was using two towels at a time.
Blankets and comforters get washed once or twice a month - Can't wash less often when I sleep with my dog.
Although, I do wash other blankets three times a year.
And kitchen rugs.......cute, nice to have, but definitely not necessary. Except for one of those GelPro mats......which I would love to have
I was not raised reusing towels or wearing clothes more than once. So never really considered doing it. Although the PJ bottoms or fleece pants DD & I wear around the house do get worn a couple of times before washing.
ETA: This post was not meant to be offensive to anyone for any reason. I know I am just a freaky OCD weirdo
I'm still trying to recover from the lack of a check for a month over the holidays, I've started out in the negative on my account Jan 15 and yesterday. I understand your pain.
someone correct my math if I am wrong... (I aint so good in math)...
and dont get me started on the cost of transit... right Deb...LOL
@ chickychicky baby..
I have dog towels.. and dog blankets.. and tea towels for dogs too.... (they get used for paws or to clean up pee accidents cause its to darn cold here and the puppies dont like to go out in the cold)
glad I am not the only one
We got DD a boxer (also will be house dog) for Christmas. I think I need to sort my people towels and make the worn ones dog towels so I will have more than 3 or 4 dog towels
My indoor dog is a pit.....it takes no time to go through some towels just for her.....especially if raining like now.
ETA: Have a great night all.......going to get ready for bed
