Hi another long islander here too hauppauge. Have 3 hens and 2 roosters which is at least 1 too many if not 2 too many roosters. I emailed you about your chicks would take some hens but just can not chance any more roos. Hopefully picking up a couple barred rock chicks tonite in ridge that I found on craigslist.

The answer is obvious. Build a bigger coop. Build one that is TOO big, because you ARE going to want more.

Have you tried free cycle or even the SPCA to rehome them oh yeah and pet finder....

I just listed my "extras" on craigslist for free and I had two takers within a couple hours. Tomorrow I am regaining my sanity.

My friend said those people won't take anymore roosters. There's a chicken farm on Sound Ave. I think it's in Wading River called Lewin Farm. It's not the produce farm, it's a red barn on the left heading west. They sell chickens for meat there. Worth a try. Let me know........
