set eggs 2/5/11 due 2/25/11 anybody else?

I have 12 due on the 25th. Some silver laced wyandotte's and some light brahma's.

I made my own incubator so it does have some design flaws! I've been hand turning and adding more water each time. I do have tubes to add without opening but just nervous that won't be enough. Everyone was still moving last time I candled Friday but I have heard such bad stories I don't want to get my hopes up.

Yes, I personnally would take them out of the turner when you lockdown. I would wait till say day 24-25 to give up on any that haven't hatched. But they can be late.....so you might just play it by ear!

Smchickfarm, how old was the pullet and cockerel your son showed?


So now my eggs, have been locked down since 9am this morning in my Genesis 1588 which I LOVE by the way.....humidity is 60%.

I really hope these 3 remaining shipped eggs hatch. I started with 12......candled day 9......4 clear .....4 blood ring. Candled again day 14..... 1 quit......3 doing good.


Now begins the checking on them every time I pass the incubator. Which seems like almost constantly. lol. I'm so anxious to see what they look like!

Got 13 americanas due on the 25th. 18 White Sultans, and 13 bbs/bl/spl silkies due on the 28th. Whew!!!! Can't wait!

Eggs go in lockdown tomorrow am. About 4 dzn....will see what hatches. They all looked good yesterday!

I have 10 of my own eggs (silkies and mille fleur d'uccles) due to hatch the 27th. Homemade incubator and my first hatch in it. I haven't hatched eggs in years!

Me and my daughter are very excited!
