Smchickfarm, how old was the pullet and cockerel your son showed?


So now my eggs, have been locked down since 9am this morning in my Genesis 1588 which I LOVE by the way.....humidity is 60%.

I really hope these 3 remaining shipped eggs hatch. I started with 12......candled day 9......4 clear .....4 blood ring. Candled again day 14..... 1 quit......3 doing good.


Now begins the checking on them every time I pass the incubator. Which seems like almost constantly. lol. I'm so anxious to see what they look like!

When he showed them last year as a pullet / cockerel, they were not quite 6 months old. Now since they are over a year old, he can take them back as a rooster and hen.

It is killing me to be at work!!!!!!! Their actual due date is this Friday the 25th and I took a vacation day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I checked on them at 7am when I got up. Nothing. Just checked at 9:30am..... First pip!!!!!!!!!!

I put 21 eggs in lockdown this morning for the 25th:

8/15 EE eggs(shipped from Atlchick), 1 cracked, 6 clear
7/8 from my hens, one died halfway
6 from a freind

i go into lockdown tonight i think. i have RIR, Oprs, a polish, 2 sultans and welsummer, and 2 little bitty sermas!! the sermas are the most anticipated!! they look like they are growing great!!



i think ill need a wig before the hatch date!! im pulling my hair out!

Well I just locked down my incubator. I have 9 eggs in. I wimped out on candling them last night. I wasn't sure I would be able to tell anything and I know they were moving last week so... wait and see. My only problem is I can't seem to get the humidity above 60% and I have everything filled with water and 5 sponges in so I don't know what to do!! Frustrating!!
