Aw thank you for that advice im going to get my husband to do that right now. We were going to put tape over it. No its not leaking, it hasnt broke the membrane just a bit of the shell. I will take a picture tomorrow when i have to fill the water chambers up again. I hope im doing this right lol. Ive ordered a candling lamp online. Apparantly i have to fill the water channels up every 3 days, ive got no way of checking the humidity temp! My bater temp is 37.8 and has stayed at that temp since i switched it on.x

Hi i candled my egg today its been in the incubater for 3 days and i couldnt see a thing! is this normal?

wait until day 7 to candle. It takes quite a bit of practice and experience to see anything at day 3. The type of crack you have in that egg, I would use the melted candle wax for it. The nail polish works ok for hairline cracks if no shell is missing, but I like the wax better.

I surely do not want to start an argument, but I must disagree with the advice to take them out of the incubator just to let them settle. It is wise to let them settle after shipment, but I would never, never, never pull them from the incubator once they are started. The embryo starts the growth process within a very short time of being brought up to temperature, once this has happened it will die if taken out at that stage of development. This is my pers. opinion.

Ok i dropped an egg on day 1, it has a tiny crack! Its day 3 now. What do you guys think? Leave in or take out?

You can just see the crack at the top. Its not leaking either.

I would drip wax on it and watch it.

I dropped an egg and had an even worse crack. I dripped wax all over it, and it did fine. Well, it did fine until the incubator it was in threw a hissy fit that I left on Chrismtas day, and raised the temp up to 105.

I also wouldn't try candling til at least 6-7 days along.

Tracy the chick: How long did you have the eggs in the bator before you took them out again to "sit"?
