This is my post from yesterday asking about the egg sac no one commented back on that forum so ill ask you lot

i also checked my goose eggs while i was candling the new eggs both sets the eggs look good i can only see a very small amount of light through one a little more through number 2 but number 3 has me concerned it seems to have an over large air sac have pictured all three

number 3 (Pete) overlarge air sac obvious in the picture but also the large shadow what do people think?
im thinking maybe the chick was growing but has died but as its my first hatch i dont trust my own judgement and my friend who Kara who does the silkies cannot be sure as she hasnt ever done geese but we read up saying they lay there eggs over a couple of days so o=could it just be a later egg?
need some expert advice on this one they are Embden goose eggs

(My god daughter chose to name them by the way not my idea)

So I decided to candle them all..... I only saw the blood vessels in about 3 out of 20....

there were definately some that seemed like they had air cells that moved around a bit. what do I do? Candle again on Monday?
if I do not see much then, get rid of them all or leave them and wait to see. ?? I am so mad that some were broken when they arrived!!!
I am looking around the area to see who has fertile chick eggs I can use for another attempt. I would prefer to not have them shipped.
thanks

Fairybee: what day are they on?

Daniellenoel: its still early days

What are the eggs? How bright is your light? Are they easy to see through - could there be veining in the others that you can't see? The ones you see veining in, is it really really clear (so you could be sure the others definately don't have it) - ? If it was me I still think I'd wait until day 7 and then if they still look bad post on craigslist farm&garden and I bet someone would donate a couple of dozen eggs.

the pictures where taken yesteday, day 22 but ive been told to lock down tomorrow day 24 to be sure so i really wanna know what to do and now a bad thing getting worse was sitting outside having a bbq an hour ago an all the power went off i ran inside to the kitchen panicing and it all came on again my neighbor who was round said it must of been a power surge i didnt think much of it but have just been to the spare room and the power surge has caused my second bators thermostate and fan wires fry there not working luckily i had been preparing it for the eggs to go in tomorrow so the goose eggs had the bator to themselves so it had no eggs in but ive had to improvise so no thermostate, instant turn off/on if too warm but ive made a fan out of a fan air freashener what do you think do you think it will work its not as quite as my last one but not too bad either

this is what i made it out off

I've no idea on whether it'll work, need a homemade bator person...anyone?
As for the egg you think is behind, I'd say sniff it, if it smells ok then leave it in. One of my eggs looked only half full at lockdown, I thought it had quit but left it in anyway...and the chick inside is running about in my brooder right now. I think it was just tighter curled up.

the light I am using came from brinsea with the incubator
So I would think it would be pretty good. I am just frustrated b/c I definately could see veining on some and then none on others
What is it called when there seems to be lots of spots/pores?
Some had a lot of those.
I am always optomistic so I will definately wait a few more days. I did just hear from someone who may be able to get me more eggs
So that is good
THanks

it smells fine so ill leave it fan didnt work was too powerful couldnt get a even tempreture thoughout so in going back to having one still air and one forced air incubator and lockdown tonight so excited
