Set eggs 5-12 Looking for hatching buddies

Your supposed to leave them in the incubator until they dry up.

I know, and they were almost there or I would have just rescued the one and left them in the bator. I just wasn't going to leave her there to hang.

Not very awake yet this morning and that last post didn't make as much sense as I had hoped. I took them both out because I figured that if I was going to have to open the bator and risk the humidity dropping, I might as well grab them both so I wouldn't have to open it again later. None of the other eggs had pipped yet and I figure it was safer to do it now. The two that had already hatched were almost dry and starting to fluff out. They are under a heat lamp an running around. Think they will be ok?

Okay toda is day 23 power went out again I think these eggs are done. Npips should I give up on them already?

You could leave it another day or two if you want to . On rare occasions I think people have had them hatch that late but not very often. You could also candle and then carefully open the eggs starting at the top just in case. Do what feels comfertble to you.

Today is day 20 for me. Last time I hatched I got most of my chicks on day 20. I'm hoping for some chickmania when I get home tonight!

My candler broke. I opened an egg to find a fully developed chick. I couldn't determine cause of death though. I don't believe it was stuck to the membrane. I have a picture if you could help me but its a little graphic. The others are in the incubator.

If it was alive how would I've known when I opened it?

If it was alive, it would have been moving around just a little bit and breathing. If you look closely for a bit it is pretty easy to tell that it is very still and dead.

Yeah I looked very closely and there was no movement or breathing so I guess it was dead
