SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME?

My son & I just did the math & we had a 50% hatch (although it felt like less).  This is from the first hatch.  I still have a second coming up.  I'm debating on if I want to hatch them in the LG instead of moving them to the Genesis like I did last time.  I have the LG stable and only have to take out the  turner.  I don't know.  I still have week to decide.

Taking out the turner on my LG and the Genesis causes issues. Watch them real close, temps drop.


I have 2 more pipped, one was already pipped but has stopped progressing. I like it when they pip and zip and get it done, lol

I started with 10 barred rock/dominique eggs. I had a few that were staggering after the 23rd. I currently have 4 chicks. 3 male and 1 female. I had 3 die after born, I don't like that part at all. I had 1 die during hatch. I have 2 eggs left that have not hatched yet. But lock down on 1 or both is today instead of the 10th. My girls sit and watch them. Them boys are such characters. Even if we don't get 100% hatch on the other 71 eggs as long as we get at least a good %.

Here they are My friend came and picked two up this afternoon, so I'll be keeping 6...which just means that I can incubate some more eggs! Hooray

I can't stand the dying part either or when something is wrong with them. I think the new has worn off of hatching for my kids. We have 2 left in lockdown right now. We candle tonight and lockdown next weekend. I really hope those last 2 hatches are easier. This hatch has had my nerves in a mess.

Everyone i think hatched now but iwill put this on here anyway.Onward and upward..Stopped crying in my beer (coffe really),.....ordered 36 eggs and a Genesis!! NOW lets see if ican get a chick or 2 out!!
If i dont i will sit on them myself!!

Started with 22 and only had four hatch. Im giving the others a couple more days but very doubtful. Had seven pheasant eggs started and only two seem to be growing now. Think I need to put in a wafer thermostat and get a better thermometer. I end up with temp issues the end of the second week every time. I cant figure out why. Frustrated!!!!

So I broke down and ordered another dozen hatching eggs. They should be here sometime before the end of the week. Hopefully I get a better hatch rate out of this bunch! I'm going to continue to run the incubator to get the temps stable for when they get here!!!

Does your temperature spike?? It is the babies generating heat.

Did any more hatch?

I lockdown tomorrow.

What is the best way to clean the incubator in between hatches? They make an incubator smell bad after they hatch.

I have 2 that are on lockdown. But I think only 1 will make it. But after that I need to clean that thing really well.
