Set eggs today3/11 Due 4/1 for Easter! 1st ever hatch! Please join me!

how sweet! she was the only one that hatched? how many eggs did you have in the bator? i'm curious cuz mine are due to hatch on wed and i have 8 eggs that were all moving yesterday when i candled.

Brenda -- beautiful coop! Your babies are going to love their new home!!!

Princess -- what did you name your new chick? she's cute!

All - Of my original 17 eggs, I removed 8 today because they were clear. We opened each of them and they were fertilized, the air sac had
developed but that was it. So we have 9 eggs left. BUT, I went away for the week-end and left my 13 year old in charge! My 8 year old called me
to tell me the temp had gone up to 103!!! Ugh!!!! I candled tonight before I put them in lockdown. There was movement in some of them, but I'm not sure
how many might make it.

It's just like being an expectant mom, isn't it! btw -- I added water the all the wells of my still-air incubator and the humidity climbed pretty quickly.
My incubation guide says around 70% humidity. Is it a problem if it goes high? How critical is humidity on lockdown? I know we have to keep it higher, but can
it be too high?

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to hear the updates and see the pix of the new babies this week!

I am using the drier hatch method. I've just read so much about chicks drowning. I've been running at 35%-42% during incubation and lock down 59%. It will not go to 60%!
I did well with this my 1st hatch so I'm doing it again.

I'm real happy with the new little coop. I have 2 weeks to get it painted inside, build a loft and put locks on. The run will have to wait 'till May.

I locked down this morning and put that rubbery shelf liner down.

Just went into the dining room to check on the chicks in thier brooder and I heard a bump in the incubator. I was looking for some movement or rocking but saw a PIP!
A tiny chip of the shell is laying on the liner. It's on the down side so I can't see it too well but here we go....

Just set the bator off the turner, removed clears/duds, and took out the dividers in the King Suro. Pigie(hen) is getting put in a better nest tonight and will get these just before or as they hatch.

I put 17 ( all 12 turken mixes and 5/6 bantam phoenix) in lockdown last night. A couple of the bantam phoenix have funky aircells due to never really settling after being shipped but they all developed. So hopefully they will hatch

. Now its time for the waiting game......

I just moved mine from the turner to the floor. They are silkie eggs. I am not good at candling so... Anyway, I'm worried because most of the eggs were very light and usually they are not because of the chick. Do you think I am borrowing trouble?

WOW! now i know what people mean when they say STEP AWAY FROM THE BATOR........i need to step away! mine are now on day 20 and they're bantam eggs.....i wish i had never read that they can hatch a day or so early .....i keep looking....and looking....and looking. no pips, no rocking, no peeps!

i took a Midol PM to kinda knock me out! i'm sure i'll be up early in the morning though. how's everyone else doing?

My first hatch... and I can't seem to get anything right lately! Temp went up and couldn't get it balanced.
Then I added too much water during lock down and the humidity went way up! Now the temp is down and can't get it up.
Thank you for all the great links to the hatching sites! What great information! I've learned so much through this experience.
Now I know why some people recommend doing a test hatch first! I've learned so much (the hard way). I'm just afraid that the chicks
could be cooked or drowned! Hopefully they're more forgiving than I'm expecting and I will get some new babies in a few more days.

Has anyone got any bantams hatched yet? since it's day 19? This is so exciting!!

I just lockdown my bantam salmon/blue salmon faverolles eggs. Due date is April 1.
It is my first hatch, and have no idea where I am now

I am trying to stay away from the bator, just checking the temp and humidity now.
Three more days feels like 3 more years!
