Set eggs today3/11 Due 4/1 for Easter! 1st ever hatch! Please join me!

So I set 25 eggs, assuming that some of them would be infertile... 24 developing eggs, from the looks of it, and 1 blood ring.
I guess this is what happens when you have 4 roosters. Here's hoping the EE & araucana roosters are the culprits for at least some of them

I candled eggs tonight....5 out of 6 of the bantam phoenix eggs are showing clear veining this is my first attempt at trying to hatch shipped eggs so I'm pleased. I didnt candle all of the 12 of my homebred turken mixes but I did enough of them to know they are coming along nicely as well. So far so good!

This is the first time I've ever candled eggs! The candling thread was very helpful to know what to look for!

Last night, I saw clear veining in a Blue Ameraucana egg. But it's the only one that was really clear.
I didn't candle all of them because I didn't want the bator to cool down too much.

Today I candled several more eggs and saw veining in the other Ameraucana egg and 2 of the sizzle frizzle eggs!
It seems that some eggs are harder to see than others...

But it's so exciting!!! just to know something is really developing and growing inside... totally cool:thumbsup

Congratulations dragorra & rknrnbow!
We are going to have chicks coming out of our ears on this thread.

I did pull my 2 "?" and 1 bloodring today. 12 from 15 developing well.
Pic's of the 1 bloodring. The little brown dot on the top, center, was the eye.

watching he egg auction, they are too funny over there. A very nice group, all with a good sense of humor. I may go to chickenstock just to meet them. I have plans to go to Norfolk that weekend that I would love to get out of....

I AM going to the Poultry show this Sunday in BelAir, MD. The Susquehanna show. I'll get to see April's porcelains and meet some people there.

i've been on BYC every single day....but sometimes i get a bit lost and i haven't visited this thread in awhile. i live in Newport NC......it's about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from Raleigh. the showgirls are doing great in my bator! only one questionable egg. i'm only keeping ONE showgirl out of these, so if you're over this way, i'll GIVE you some if you're interested.

I forgot to turn my eggs last night!!!!!!!!!!!! There was too much going on and the we were up late. I don't know how this happened, but I forgot!!! How critical is the egg turning? and if I (only) missed one turn, will it affect the eggs? I usually turn them 3 times per day.

Oh-oh I just realized that mine are due on 4/1 !!!!!

I set 8 Maran eggs on 3/10 (or 11) I can't really remember..... These eggs were shipped, so I wasn't expecting much. I candled last night (day 10) & saw 7 happy dancing chick babies!!!

I'm so excited!!!!

BTW- These eggs were set with 5 others that were set on 3/6. I'm down to 1 little lonely chick ready for lockdown tomorrow.... I'm hoping for 7 little maran chicks to keep him company soon!

I've got the full blown- Obsessive Chicken (or Chick) Disorder.....as I have 6 blue bantam cochin eggs, 6 black bantam Cochin eggs, & 6 BLR Wyandotte eggs coming in the mail......I've got it bad......

Good luck all!
