Set my very first eggs today (due March 24th) - need a hatching buddy!

Cheryl.....leave it alone. Mine were pipped for over 12 hours before they started zipping.

equine.....I wouldn't. It doesn't hurt anything to leave the shells in there until the hatch is done.

I'mateacher.......how much blood?

congrats chickenlady!

21 chicks out of 21 eggs!! Wow that is fantastic!! I will be sending my eggs to you from now on so you
can hath them for me! LOL!!

The chick was dragging its shell around - still attached. One of the siblings stepped on the attachment and pulled it off. Once it was off the bleeding stopped. Do I need to check the little guy out or just leave him be? There was some fluid still there, but I think that has dried up, too. The blood was 8 inches of drag, not a lot but, this is my first hatch.

Lots of chirping going on.

I'm concerned about 1 egg though, it pipped and there's a bit of blood around the membrane where it pipped. I haven't seen any further action from that egg, so I hope the little one is okay.
