Thanks all for your concern and stories ~~~~~~~~~

Talked to the post master today see if they arrived this afternoon ...a later shipment
NO
He said he was sorry didnt know why they took 3 days to go from Maryland to St louis (yeah me too! A 13 hours trip!)
HE said they would be here tomorrow SAT.as they had been shipped to the last PO.... an hour away (I hope) dont see it on tracking yet but said they departed st Louis today).
So ....7 days riding around!!UGGGh
This is the longest i EVER have waited before Worst was 4 days..... twice.
.
I cant imagine how i would ever get one chick out of this bunch but i have to incubate because lightening can strike i guess ...or i could win the multi million dollar lottery....
UH HUH.

To be fair i dont think most ppl put "EGGS" on the box. Most just say "fragile"I have had one out of 9 but the breeders mostly say if you do, the PO ppl purposedly shake them.i am not sure thats true but i know they arent treating ANY package like there are EGGS inside!!
Too hurried to load carefully.

Sorry to hear about your eggs. All these bad stories about the post office taking so long to deliver live chicks and fertile eggs is ridiculous. You would think it would be there priority to move them as safely and as quickly as possible. Dont they have a list of tthings coming in for the day? Live animals or embryos should be at the top of the list saying GET ME TO MY HOME ASAP. I dont get it

. I hope your eggs come today and hope they dont get scrambled on you.

Ive had the same problem one order of eggs got lost in Florida and never did make it seems this second order was lost for 2 days in missouri somewhere but finally made it to my local post office so hopefully they arrive today. Its had my nerves on edge all week the stress of wondering where they are with the added stress of wondering how badly they have been handled. Im sure the USPS would not like to hear from me again some of the eggs are very expensive and then not being able to insure them. I sure hope you get your eggs today

I had the same problem once with day old chicks. Took 4 days to get to NY from Ohio! Then, on the 4th day they wanted me to travel almost 2 hours to their facility to pick up the chicks. I called my Postmaster and told her I paid good money for those chicks and it was their responsibility to get them here. They sent the mail carrier to get them!! I lost more than 6 out of 25.
There is a good reason why they don't insure....it's because nobody at the USPS wants to be responsible and do their jobs!! They get paid very well (my ex works for the USPS) and they don't like being made to be responsible to make sure deliveries get to where they need to go in a safe, timely fashion. If you mail a letter, they are not responsible if it doesn't get there. It's too bad that nobody is there to hold these people accountable and to make sure things are done properly. Oops, we are talking about a government run agency, aren't we....

Its ridiculus the way they operate. I opened a case to hopefully find out where the eggs from Florida are the first time I talked to someone they entered my zip code wrong so when I called back I was told that no such address existed therefore the package was undeliverable after explaining the whole story a dozen times and YES I do get mail at that address and arguing for over an hour even had the nerve to tell me maybe it was shipped fedex or ups when I gave them the usps tracking number they finally realized the zip code was wrong after I had told them the address a dozen times or more so I had to open a whole new case and received a call a few days later telling me that the package had just disapeared after it was scanned at the shippers post office and that he really had no answer and didnt really know what I should do and the sad part is they get paid very well to have no clue what they are doing

I can't wait til next monday. I'm waiting til then to candle for the first time. Today is day 6 of incubating the eggs. my broody is still on 3 eggs as well. after I candle the eggs I might put more under her. The ones that are doing good. Because I think she'll do a better job then any incubator. But i'm not sure. I kind of want to keep all the green/blue eggs in the incubator and then put the other colors under her so that I can keep the chicks seperate even after hatch. So i'll know which ones will be which color egg layers.
I have two more brown eggs to put under her though. :)
Hope she goes broody again in february when i plan to get some eggs from my moms chickens.

Just started mine today, I'm a first timer, I'm very excited I already have 4 red stars, 2 rhode island reds and 2 barred rock roosters that I bought at 4 months, now 9 months old. I noticed the temp inside went up to 106 after about 4 hours, it was still at 101 for 24 hours before I put them in, should I worry?

Iv,e got 6 cream legbar eggs incubating due to hatch 21st,does anyone else have probs candeling, cause I can,t seem to see anything I don,t know if they are devolping or not.
