Setting Duck Eggs 4/4, anyone else with me?

@ Silkiesensation have you ever shipped eggs before? Do you know what something like that would cost? I am afraid the eggs that were given to me are not fertile. :( When I candled a few last night I did not see any difference between now and before they were set. They have been in the bator for about 96 hours.

I ship eggs all the time. There's an ad in my siggy for my duck eggs with prices. I also have chicken & quail eggs that aren't listed. Just PM me if you need prices on those. Don't give up on your duck eggs yet. Often you can't see much until day 7-10 on candling.

I'm going to follow along here too since it's all duckies! I set 13 eggs on 4/8. (Was aiming for 4/7but couldn't get the temp to stay constant.) I only have one lonely egg left from my Cayuga (I think at least.) one was leaking and stinky this morning...and it's only been in there for 24 hours or so! sheesh! the sat on the counter for about 5 days though too. Anyways, the rest are from my Rouen, and my drake is a handsome Rouen/Runner cross. :)

My patience is not very good when it comes to things I am excited about, although I am extremely patient with my students. Thanks for the advice, I will not throw them out yet. I think this is the Lord's way of helping me be patient in other areas. :) I just hope they are fertile.

I told my husband last night, "If I have been babying these eggs for the last 5 days and they are not fertile I'm going to be ticked off." How long does it take to get shipped eggs? Can you tell I am new to this hobby?

Welcome! Is this your first time hatching? It's my first ever hatch. I am learning a significant amount about incubating eggs and that it also takes a lot of patience, which is sometimes hard for me.

It takes longer for duckies to develop than for chicks. I never toss any duck eggs until at least day 14 unless they are stinky or leaking. Day 10 for chicks. You will see nothing at all for DAYS & then suddenly the egg is full of veins. I also never toss anything the 1st time it looks suspicious. I always check again in 3-4 days & see if it still looks funny. I've hatched MANY eggs that I swore at some point in time during incubation had died. I have duckies hatching now. 1 was an entire week late due to low temps in 1 of my bators. I had turkeys, quail, chicks & ducks all hatch this weekend & now the geese are hatching too. I run 3 bators in staggered hatches pretty much constantly.

Since Fri I have set:
6 Call ducks
13 pekin ducks
12 runner ducks
6 cochin mix
3 OEGB
5 toulouse goose
& will be setting 9 olive eggers tonight

That is cool! I have been so obsessed with keeping temps exact and making sure the humidity is good that I have even been getting up in the middle of the night to check them.
Here are some pics I took of my eggs tonight

So you hatch call ducks? Would you mind answering some of my questions on this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...all-ducklings-updated-questions#post_10894911
