Setting Duck Eggs 4/4, anyone else with me?

If it's way behind your other eggs I would say it's a quitter. If it about the same I would recheck it again in about 4 days to see if there is any change or movement. Sometimes they look weird for a day or 2 at certain stages & then straighten back out.

I'm concerned about the four black dots on the inside of the egg. Is that normal?

It could be bacteria spots or it could just be the embryo. I would check it again in a few days. If it's bacteria the spots will have enlarged. If it's the embryo the spots will move. Sometimes an embryo will develop just fine as long as a bacteria spot stays pretty small. Other times it kills the embryo & causes the egg to rot. Unless the egg smells or is leaking I would leave it in & check again in a few days to see if there is any change.

How is every one doing? I am so excited we have development in some of our eggs here!

We set 14 duck eggs on Saturday and can see development in 7. We were able to see heartbeats in several. This is so exciting with it being our first time incubating and all.

I set 13 call duck and 4 call duck/mallard eggs last Friday (day 6) and I can see development in 12-14 of them :)

I added water to my bator this morning and the humidity has been 45-52%. I know this is too high, but will it be alright for a day or two until it settles?
