Setting Duck Eggs 4/4, anyone else with me?

I hatched 4 pekins over the weekend, have 4 mixed banties pipped, 1 call in lockdown, 6 rouens in lockdown & a bunch of runners & pekins going into lockdown soon.

Okay ladies we had our first pip today, but it is really low and on the side of the shell. Is this okay? Should we be alarmed? It is the smallest egg we have and is a chicken egg. Also, they are due to hatch on Thursday, so this one is about 48 hours early.

Looks fine to me. Let it go.

but I think the yolk sac is still attached. What do I do?
Leave it alone. It will dry out & fall off on it's own. Give it a couple hours That's just the rest of he membrane that was around the yolk. Nothing to worry about.

We've got five babies and a sixth zipping now. They are simply adorable, can't wait for them to fluff up a little so we can get some good pictures. Not real happy with my 50% hatch rate, especially since I went into lockdown with 11 out of the 12 I set still thriving. I had some trouble getting my humidity up early in lockdown, and I think those early pippers didn't fair well. I'll leave them for a few days just to make sure I don't get any late hatchers, but I'm thinking what I've got I'd what I'm getting.

Give the rest at least 24 hours after the last 1 completely hatches & then candle to see if any are still moving.
