Setting Eggs 12/28 - Hatching Buddies? Hatch-Along

I had a very entertaining dream last night! I dreamed that when I woke up I had some eggs hatch, but found a duckling, a crested gecko hatchling, a ball python hatchling, and two eggs with chicken legs sticking out of them and that's it with a few more to hatch. It was really weird, haha!

No internal pips yet, so I'm just gonna hold on a little longer. I am gradually increasing the humidity though back to 30-40%

pretty sure mine are done hatching now... 11 hatched and 1 died. leaving the rest in the incubator for the day for any stragglers. this was a good trial and I think I will do a few things differently next hatch. The majority that hatched were my own... the shipped eggs weren't as viable but 5 of those did hatch. so I have 4 faverolle 1 silkie mix 1 EE and 4 cochins that are running around.

I placed coturnix eggs in the bator on 12-29 thru 1-3. On day 21 2 of the eggs due last Tuesday are hatching 5 days overdue. Silly little birds. Dont give up hope.

I just set up my own hatching cam. Chicks should start hatching within 24 hours...hopefully

I have 7 pips! Man, this is a slow and agonizing process.

Well, one egg burst today, so I had to clean out the nest and rinsed off the remaining eggs. Momma hen was only off the nest for 5-10 min. She resettled on the remaining eggs, and we'll see what happens. We have a local store that sells chicks. If hers don't hatch, should I get some "replacement" chicks since she is ready to be a momma and we want to grow the flock?

Ewwww. Unfortunately if the goop got on the other eggs there's a pretty high chance they'll get bacteria in them. Hoping for the best!

Oh yeah, you can definitely get some chicks and put them under her. Just make sure they are young enough to accept a hen. The younger the better.
