Setting Eggs 4/17! Who's With Me?

Well, so far so good. My temp now reads a steady 100.4. I am just going to leave it. I only have on thermometer in there, I tried two, but they were like 2 degrees off so... I just decided to let them be. It is my first time ever. Have always let the broody do it. I am wondering when I should candle first. I was thinking to just wait 7 days, but I really want to see what is going on right now. I will try to wait at least 5 days. I have 32 eggs. 9 millie fluer 3 blue cochin bantams. and 20 of my own barnyard mix breed wonderful chickens. We will see what kind of surprises I get about may 8.

the temp in my aquarium-incubator goes back and forth between 99-100 with a high of 101 where it starts cooling down again automatically thanks to the probe i have. it only goes down lower than 99 when i am turning them (hand turning them) and it gets back up to the right temp within minutes -again because of the probe.

i have been candling them every night. and i've been taking photos with my motorola Zine camera phone (i love my phone's camera)

many, but not all, of my 21 eggs have some sort of veiny thing. pretty exciting!

I'll jump in this thread too, although I think I'm on another one for setting on 4/17!

I set 6 LF blue cochin, 6 blue/mottled bantam cochin, 7 golden cuckoo marans, 6 BC/GCM mixes and I am still waiting for another batch of eggs I won on auction here, 12 silver laced rock bantams.....hoping they come this morning and I will get them in last thing tonight before going to bed.

OMG i had a major issue today next door neighbors son who is a jack and mad because he use to live in my house, and we had to kick them out . Any way he kicked the wood that was between the fences and let all my flock out and would not let me on his property to get my birds. So durring all this i forgot to turn eggs all day ugghhh hope they are ok

i should word that better LOl they rented our house and when we sold our other house we took our house back and he just cant get over it. So i have 8 chickens i can not get back from there yard I swear if his dog kills them i will rip him a new one

Starry oh and the police tried talking to them and asking if we could get them bk and he said no its tresspassing so even the law cant help so basically you dont have the right to retrieve your property if it goes in the neighbors yard so i guess that means they can keep your dogs and cats to . what a load of horse pooo
