This next batch I'm hatching is doing way better as far as growth so far out of 40 eggs only 6 are duds at this point z

good luck with it

I just had 1 asil hatch and 1 pip and one chirping

very exited

got cream legbars and OEGB x Pekin also due

I am also having good luck so far with my tolbunts I have 7 chicks that hatched over night, and 25 that are pipped this morning oh happy days, I was kind of worried because I have heard a lot of bad things about shipped eggs and all of these are shipped eggs,

Me and Asil don't go well

such highly valuable birds and I lost a shindi asil it died soon after hatch

I wouldn't have been as upset if I lost another breed but my asil

im gutted

Well my luck may have run out :/ last night while I was sleeping the temp in my incubator dropped to 20c :(I got it fixed but I don't know how long it was that way or why it happened.

Okay, so I had a HORRIBLE hatch, my first set I had a lone Serama out of 18 eggs from right up the road, so no shipping!!!! On my next set 6 Seramas and 6 Silkies, NOTHING!!! Only 1 even made it to lock down.

I was convinced (when only 1 egg made it to lock down) it was my bator, so I bought a new one. It came with one of those cheap thermometers so I bought an aquarium thermometer to go with it. Put some eggs in it, while the single egg was in lock down. It ran a perfect 100 according to my two new thermometers. Once I trashed the egg, I moved my expensive digital thermometers over to the new bator and what did I see? One was reading 98 the other 97, while my two new ones were showing 100

So then I realized I just cooked $90 worth of eggs

. I feel so bad, those to expensive ones were spot on last year.

So now I have 12 Seramas, tossed 4 last night due to quitters (down to 8) and 24 Cubalayas. The Seramas were set last Tuesday (05/21), 12 Cubalayas were set last Friday (05/24) and 12 more Cubalayas on Sunday (05/27). So happy to see a lot more movement in the Seramas than I ever saw in the other eggs. Man I feel bad for doing that to them!!!! I mean the main thermometer I used, was reading at 100-102, so if it is 3 degrees off that was really 103-105, it is amazing that even 1 hatched.

that's quite a story of issues

good luck with new hatch

I will be honest I know Brinsea US is shite in USA but in UK its excellent and I always buy brinsea and they are spot on with temp

im a computer techie by profession and one thing I know about brinsea is the Microcontroller and sensors they use (Sensiron)

http://www.sensirion.com/nc/en/prod...load-center/?cid=885&did=227&sechash=e01c5021

and they use a very expensive double collaborated one that comes with certification of accuracy (that's why Brinsea is expensive)

and I have never had my temps off due to thermometer issues
