I think he pipped on the out side but I'm not sure cause it looks like a tiny obrassion on the egg or a calcium spot from being laid. But he's still moving!

Ok well I candled and tapped and he has pipped internally but he's tapping toward the side of the egg below the airsack line!! What should I do????

Hmm, that's a tough one :/ Can you take a pair if tweezers and try to pull a little shell off where it looks like its pipped on the outside? Its usually pretty obvious when they've broken the shell. There's at least a little crack there. It might be positioned wrong, in that case, you'll probably have to help it. If you do decide to open it up, go very slowly. Pay close attention to the inner membrane. If you see any blood filled veins, wrap the egg ib a damp paper towel and put it back. Check on ut again in a couple of hours. You don't want to bring it out until its absorbed all of the blood and yolk.
I just checked on one of ny eggs that had been peeping all day yesterday (but not today). I candled and tapped and it didn't respond. So, I carefully opened it up. The poor chicky had pipped internally on the wrong end of the egg. I thought about checking it last night since it wasn't making any progress, but left it. If I had checked the poor thing last night, I probably could have saved it And it was a beautiful baby with a vaulted skull, blue and yellow feathers and amazingly feathered feet. So sad.

Aw, well I did pull the shell back, there is a massive red vein on the lower part of the membrane and the chick is side ways!!! I can see his feet and the whole side of his pretty yellow molted head!!!!!! And come to find out he didn't pip internally he's trying to pip on the side of the egg since he's sideways!!

The beak is in the upper right corner and the vein runs all across the bottom. And its not as bloody as it looks the only vein noticable is the one on the bottom my camara sucks on my phone. Though there was some blood but I didn't pull away any membrane I think its from him pushing on the membrane ( and there is still a lip of shell around the memebrane so I didn't bust any thing.)

Yea, it may have busted a vein while trying to pip. If you can figure out where his beak is, you can pip for him so he can breathe. Wrap the exposed bottom in a damp paper towel and give him a while to finish absorbing. You can save him! Just go slow and be careful

Oh my I'm going to feel like a brain surgen. :X but if I can see his beak I pull not tear right?

There was a little bleeding but I got his beak exposed and he's gapping in air. Do I have to get the membrane away from his nose??

If he's breathing and chirping he should be ok. You don't want to make him hatch before all that blood is absorbed by breaching too much of the membrane

Ok he hasn't chirped yet since I've free'd his beak but he's still breathing. *crosses fingers*
