I looked in about 1:20pm and saw a piece of the egg shell come off. I'm curious if the membrane is good, as it is pure white. The egg to the left of it has an external pip but no progress on that egg yet. no other eggs have pips yet, but i'm hoping if this egg hatches today that the chick will get the eggs rolling, phun intended..

From what I understand white is a good color, if it turns brown that is a bad sign. Brown means that it has dried up. Your egg is lookin good to me!! :)

So I went to check on the eggs again and found this.......

he/she hatched from the egg that is the white spot i questioned about. She rolled the other egg that had the pip in it, so i'm curious and worried if i should turn the other egg around to where the pip is.

Also it states to remove the red vent to vent help dry the bird, but afraid that the temp/humdity will go down which wouldn't be great for the other eggs.

Oh so cute!! And it looks pretty dry already! Egg-celent! Congrats! You don't really have to worry about her rolling others around, but I used a bendy straw, stuck through one of my vent hole to roll others back upright when a live one rolled them. They say it doesn't matter, but I wanted to be able to monitor the pips!

Awe cutie!! Congrats! Whenever I removed the plugs in the past I did lose humidity fast and temps only dropped a degree or two. I would open the plugs because humidity will get extremely high in there and it provides fresh air!

I moved the second pip egg around (by hand very quickly) and noticed that a tiny part of the white is like light light brown.
no more progress has been made upon it though. :(. How long should i leave the chick in the incubator? he's still a bit wet and don't want to move him out because I am hoping his movement will alert the other eggs to hatch.

It's personal preference when it comes to when to remove the chick. On my first hatch I removed the chick as soon as I found it and let it fluff up in the brooder. My second hatch I waited a bit then moved them. I could never wait til the chick was dried because they were either crying constantly or I didn't feel comfortable with them knocking the other eggs everywhere. All those chicks ended up perfectly fine. Other people prefer to wait til they are dried.
