setting eggs on Thurs. Hatch date Feb 4th-who's with me??

This waiting is excruciating!!!

I've set up my "weather station" with the sensor in the incubator, and then the bator temp is projected on my ceiling at night. I can monitor the temps any time I wake up in the night, without getting out of bed.

I got my replacement batch of BCM's and they went in last night. I also ordered some more eggs off ebay and have replacment blue rock eggs coming too. I'm going to have this incubator running for the next month at least!

The worst part.... I can only keep a few of the chicks!

OH NO your incubator is in your bedroom! You're seriously hooked. Where do you live - I could take care of some of those extra chicks. Good luck. The set up is a good idea.

There's something wrong with the bator in the bedroom????

My incubator is actually in my kitchen, not my bedroom. My bedroom doesn't stay a consistent enough temperature to have it in there. I just have my weather station sensor in the incubator and it sends all the info to the receiving station in my bedroom and projects it on the ceiling.

Nothing wrong with having the incubator in the bedroom though, although you won't get any sleep on hatching night

Here's what I see on my ceiling at night, I think this proves that I'm really addicted:

Here's the weather station:

Here's what I have in my incubator, you can see the weather station sensor in the middle (white box). The jar marked "dried garlic" is just full of water to help stabilize the temps, same with the white pill bottle. The only thing I have for humidity is a wet paper towel, and it keeps the humidity around 40%:

Hi everybody, it's Alex. Sorry I didn't check in on Thursday night. I didn't candel until bedtime. I candeled my BO eggs for day 7 and I could see 5 for sure have veins, 2 were hard to see so I don't know for sure, and 1 looked pretty clear. The same night I candeled I helped mom move her eggs to the hatcher. You won't believe it, but there was a chick hatched the next morning! That was yesterday. There were 2 more hatched yesterday and 3 today. She has 3 pips now too. We have been busy. First we set up the small brooder because we thought there was only going to be that early one. Then we had to take it down and set up the medium size one because they keep coming. I think tomorrow we will go ahead and set up the big brooder because it looks like they aren't going to stop till all 20 are here. I will write again next Thurs. I hope my eggs hatch as good as mom's.
