My Nov. 10th egg is now a chick! This is the coolest.
I did help, I didn't expect there to be a pip this early, as my little bator has been struggling to keep up in my super cold house and the temp as rather low for the whole incubation. Anyways, my fault the humidity was only 45% when it pipped, and that was at night, so it was 'dry' for a few hours at least.
I opened the pip a little bit and the chick was cemented in and struggling. So I did the bad thing and helped it the rest of the way out...
There was more blood then I would like, and I had to tie off and cut the cord attaching the chick to the egg- I hope that's ok? Still sleeping right now... Pics when I can find the camera!
