Wow! They are gorgeous! What are the breeds? They're like my kids in that I don't want them to grow up so fast! Wish they could stay at the cute fuzzy butt stage a little longer.
Oh I helped #6 hatch around 12:30 last night!! Her poor head & beak were against her chest & she couldn't break out. "She" is now happy & healthy hanging out with her "sisters"!
Good job with that positive thinking there! So, if we use "she" and "her" and "sisters" with them, that will that increase our chances of pullets?
Seriously, I've watched some videos on vent-sexing - and I would like to try it, but I'm afraid I'll hurt them since I don't know what I'm doing. Wish I could find someone to teach me. I've got fifteen 9 weeks old chicks, and I'm pretty sure on most of them from looking at the combs and feathers - but there are a few that I'm still uncertain where they're male or female.

I got some better photos this morning. So here are my eight babies! I'm beginning to think these eight are all I'll get. The one lemon cuckoo orpington that pipped yesterday has done nothing else since then.

Darlings! I don't know anything about swedish flowers, can you sex them as chicks? Are the araucanas from your own birds? I plan on getting some of those. I have heard they are difficult to hatch. Have you experienced that?
