Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

First hatch, middle of day 20. 6 eggs in bator all moving here and there no pips yet. Not freaking yet either. I'm still calm but afraid the eggs shells are too hard for them to pip. I know when I have went to crack my hens eggs it felt like trying to crack rocks. I hope they can do it.

Congratulations on the hatches everyone.

I have a "problem child" chick and I need help. I stopped looking in the bator due to being scared. A chick hatched out but left this wad of goopy gunky yellow and white stringy stuff in the eggshell when it came out. It also has an itty bitty pink "bloop" of jelly-looking stuff (pinhead sized) near it's abdomen. What is the yellow goop in the shell and what is the pink-white-bloody looking 'dot' on his belly?? Will it be okay?

The yellow goop is the waste sack and is absolutely normal. The little dot on his belly is where the umbilical cord was attached just like in a human baby.

Middle of day 20 here too and I have nothing. At least yours are moving.

Thing is, they've been doing that since yesterday afternoon and not really getting anywhere. That's why the worrying is starting to set in.

Thank you for the help. It crawled back into it's egg shell, too...still hanging out in there again. It was sort of wobbling all over the other eggs for a while but then it went back to the shell and crawled inside like a hermit crab. =/
Mine like to crawl back in the shell or one of the egg carton holes and rest there.

I just wanted to say "don't worry" (I know, impossible)...but this is day 20 for me too, and most of my eggs didn't show any sort of pipping at all until today. They've been moving around like jumping beans since day 17. I had two that had pipped, yes... but now every single one of the others have pips in them too (and they didn't until today) so keep positive! :)
