Setting eggs today (3/30) anyone else???

lol yea my broody does that sceech all the time lol but she knows I wont hurt her because Im her "mama" (I raised her from a little chick). I am sooooo eggcited lol about hatching!!!! Oh my gosh this set has gone by way fast!!!! Ok everyone MUST upload photos (if you can) when they hatch!!!

We have our first hatch. Our SS broody was off her nest getting a drink when I went into the broody pen. I looked around her to her nest and saw two little dark eyes. Mama SS saw me and moved quickly back to the nest. Luckily I had my camera with me taking pictures of Mama BO with a couple of her chick outside teaching and enjoying a dust bath.

Our first chick to hatch today. Mama SS was just getting back into the nest.



Mama got settled for this one.



I think I can see the that egg hatched on the opposite side of the nesting box, and it looks like she might be one of our EE mixes. Hope she has a hatch buddy soon.

There is no action in the incubator yet.

Mama SS has at least 3 chicks, maybe four. She is being very protective. The way her body moves to accomodate the chicks movement under her is priceless.

No action in the bator.

Camera battery is in the charger. More pics later.

Sorry I didnt check the posts yesterday but YAY!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh she is adorable!!!! Nothing yet with my broody but there might be a chick under her and I dont know it lol I really hope we get some this time because it was a sad story last spring. We had 6 eggs that we started with and our hen (Rose) stepped on 4 of the 6 and only one hatched but she (Luna) lived for a full day and night. Soooo... out of the 14 we should get some chicks lol

OK BIG NEWS!!!!! I went out this morning to check on mama and eggs and I lifted her up a bit and saw an egg moving and a pip in it!!!! But I probably wont get to see the chick until I come home from our homeschool co-op at church but thats ok she will probably be all fluffy then

Good news Kelsey! It is so amazing to see those new lives. They are so sweet.

Mama SS has four EE mixes that have hatched, and one that had pipped when we were out around 7 tonight. They are so fluffy and I love their chubby furry cheeks.

Then when I went to peek at the eggs in the incubator - we have a pipped egg in there. One of three.

Two eggs in the incubator and seven still under Mama SS to go.

Kelsey, I hope you have a chick this evening.

Thanks! Im so glad you have lots of pips and hopfully babies soon mkcolls! We have as of right now 4 chicks and 9 have pips so that means all but one (which I knew was infertile but didnt mess with her) will hopefully hatch!!! I will upload one of the cutest chick pics Ive seen!!! Hold on I have to download them lol

This is our first chick that hatched today (Chip,the baby, and Robin,the mama,) Her sister is named Dale lol then there is Cupcake our americana and an austrolope no name lol we have one in mind but we are thinking of more lol
Try to find the chick lol sooooo cute!!!! I have tons more but this is sooo cute lol cant stop smiling!!!!
They were giving kisses!!!!!!
