No i will add em tm. I never heard dont open for 24 hrs. Ill be turning my eggs at 8 2 8 and will toss em in at one of those times. Figure the few hrs can't hurt to much. Thats my thought though
I am using a little giant and noticing I am having some downward temp spikes down to 97.9 this morning but only for like 30 min before I caught it, due to having the windows open in the living room. I closed the windows and put the incubator in my greenhouse so I can close off the door and cut the drafts. It's like putting them in the closet but since I don't have a closet with an outlet my mini greenhouse will have to do. I am all about repurposing materials for other uses once they aren't useful anymore hehe. I will see if I can get my computer to behave enough to post some pictures.
I got a lg incubator too. Ice notice it will drop a bit sometime. I put in a computer fan so it isnt still though. Now just put an egg turner on my want list lmao. But mine does bring itself back up so i try not to mess witg the temp once they are in
I have the egg turner and it definitely saves a lot of extra worry on my part. I am trying not to touch my temp gauge too but I was worried that sometimes it dips below 99 and I didn't want that to hurt the babies or when the temp gets really hot (we have had some days in the 90's here) and the temp will rise almost to 101. So far no huge temp spikes though so not too much worry. I am such an overprotective adoptive mother. I want to candle now too but it's only day 3 so I probably won't be able to see a thing since my eggs are super dark. I will probably have to wait until I get to day 10 or maybe right before lockdown and just do the sniff testing until then. lol

I was going to set my duck eggs today but I only had 3 not refrigerated, but of course I only got one egg today from my mallards versus the usual 2....tomorrow I should have 6 to set!!
