Setting eggs today 5/31/11

Just checked in my on 21 chicken eggs (not all of them, candled maybe 5 or 6)...I see some nice development on a few, can't see a few yet as they are dark eggs....I also candled one of the 4 ameraucana eggs and it was moving around, they head into lockdown on Tuesday....

Sounds like everything is going well in your incubators I can't wait to see them move. Mine are four days along right now. I candled a sample from each type last night and they all had air cells but I could not see veins yet. The eggs are really dark though so that is probably why. When should I be able to see veins and the baby in the egg?

I'm gonna not candle till day 10. Last batch I did earlier and was si hard to tell what i was seeing lol. Hoping i get a better hatch rate by not pulling em out so much

I can see veins!!

Well not in all my eggs but in most of them. Some are still too dark to see anything but a dark blob inside the egg. I am still hoping for a good hatch though. I am at day 5 and counting and no problems so far.

How is everyone else doing?

Sorry haven't posted for a bit....Hello to anyone new to the thread

I am just this morning setting only five mallard eggs...I think my mallards have stopped laying and I don't want to wait any longer to set these eggs.So...thanks to the help on here,I might get a couple to hatch...we'll see

Cindilou of course you can join everyone is welcome it's great to actually have a lot of people who are all sharing the same experience it makes it even richer. Today is day 6 for me keeping my fingers crossed for a good hatch.
