Setting Eggs Tomorrow 06-29-11/07-08-11 set 17 Any buddies???

I candled my remaining eggs last night, everyone is doing great. We go into lockdown on Friday.

well out of 24 eggs i set i have 12 that have 1 wk left to do

I set some marans, ee, oe, rocks, bantam cochins today.

well i had 3 blood rings everything else was clear. I bought these eggs but they weren't shipped, kinda sad that the rest didn't develop something

set 2 was 12 eggs not shipped and one was clear 11 are developing well and moving.

Set 3 was 15 shipped eggs two cracked on delivery. I patched them one developed and is moving one did not and I had one clear so I have 13 definitely developed eggs in that batch.

So that means 26 definitely developing and 3 possibles on top of that.

I dropped a lockdown egg, and it is still alive, over half theshell is missing,

that it survives!!!

It helps that we have been so busy, that I just don't have the time or energy to stress much about the eggs. By the time I get home, I remember to turn the eggs, but that's about it. The temp has seemed to be holding steady, but I barely do more than glance at it from time to time. This hatch has been so much less stressful than the first one, and I'm sure I fixed the ventilation issue. I remember how huge the air cells were on the first hatch, these look just like the egg we had that hatched early(due to being incubated by the momma hen for the first 16 days-the egg was grabbed by mistake by the people we bought this last batch of hatching eggs from) so I feel much more confident of having a good uncomplicated hatch this time around.

I'm down to 7 BO and 5 Penedesencas, due to hatch on the 21st. Started w/38 eggs, so not too shabby for shipped eggs - IF they ALL hatch!!
