Setting up the bator and setting shipped eggs this week....anyone else wanna join?

Nice! Thanks for the info. I have been wondering about adding veggies directly to fermenting bucket vs. just piling it on top before feeding - good to know!

Day fourteen yesterday. Still had 5 clear. Chucked them.
Remaining 13 still look good! Lockdown on Thursday!

You will be on PIP watch by Fri or Sat. I see on the news the NE is getting snow. Hope Spring starts there soon! Spring is in the air here. I have a beautiful blueberry bushes starting to bloom that will yield summer berries. Also, lemon and tangerine trees with blossoms that draw the honey bees. I love Springtime! I'm a gardener too!! I'll have to send you some Florida citrus fruit.

I have 3 pips! 1 lavender, 2 white....I want my other colors to do something so bad! It is only day 19....I just read over on the silkie post a catdance hatcher hatched 12 out of 13 sikies - all from day 19 to 22 ! It is so nice to hear other experiences! My last batch are spending the night in their big girl coop for the first time! I wish I had a baby monitor! They look so little out there all by themselves! I did put up a heat lamp just in case they need it! Silkie fuzz is so different it is hard to know when they are "cold hardy"!

For those of you wondering on FF - I did add 1 tsp of yeast in the beginning and that really helped get it going nicely! My birds are looking great!

Gallina - watching you on your hatch! You are right behind me!!!

i set 22 brown eggs the 7 and 17 out of the 22 got baby in them that not bad there due off the 28

2 white babies out

, a couple of pips, but they totally disorganized my perfectly organized setting of eggs for maximum viewing.....

so I don't know what is what anymore! The lavender that pipped last night is not doing a thing....which worries me even though I have been through this before.... never gets easier does it? It has the biggest pip, and I had an egg that did the same thing in the last 2 hatches that died. Hopefully not this time around - I REALLY want a lavender! Hatching is like a Box of Chocolates....you never know what you are going to get

I am so envious of you! My little meyer lemon tree has some buds on it! It's only a baby, so they'll probably just fall off, but that's OK. I would love to have your climate! I have blackberries, raspberries and a lonely blueberry bush... so at least I get some fruits! But I LOVE citrus!
Yep, we are due to get 10-16 inches or some such nonsense - so ready to be warm. The chickens have been happily scratching outside and my glories of the snow are blooming - NO MORE SNOW:he

I see FW Catdance babies are hatching! YAY :weee

And the fun begins... Is your brooder ready:D
Have a good evening! I was going to wish you sweet dreams, but you're still early! You'll probably be up for the hatchlings!!! Best wishes...

Thanks Gallina! The lavender one I was worried about hatched! It is the size of a peanut! SOOOOO cute! Tons of pips..... No, I just moved the last batch out of my brooder yesterday - so first thing a.m. it gets a good scrubbing and re-set up for the new babies!

Well today is day 21! 7 of my 13 BLRW eggs I had shipped that were lost in the mail were duds. A couple candled funny so I left them in there. Of course all 6 of my home grown ones seem to be fine. I haven't hatched chicks in 20 years so I'm going by instinct alone. I'm glad I have to work today or I would be sitting there staring at them all day long. I'll keep ya'll updated.
