Ahhhhh - there's a pip! Now how will I get my chores done....

Progress on coop building came to a screeching halt with our lovely wind and snow.....awesome. Chickenlickin8, you sure know how to rub it in don't you??
Day 18 here and we're in lock down....only 3 of my original 6....."pip watch" starts Tuesday! Hopefully the weather will perk back up into the 50's again ....Keep warm all you fellow frozen fowl keepers!!
Stephen and I got home just in time for me to watch the first pipper unzip and hatch! OMG, so thrilled to see it happen! Noisy little bugger! And yes, it's a roo BSL, clearly white strands on its damp head. Maybe when it dries, it won't be so white, lol? Pretty sure it's a boy though. Two more pips. We'll see how long I can stay up... I got to see a chick hatch, yay!

I want a friend like yours!!! I finally listed my extras on Craigs list for free with the hopes they would act like they were going to be pets and not stew pots (although I am a realist and have 4 in my freezer right now)...and lo and behold, I got rid of 3 to people who wanted them for their flock! My phone started ringing at 6:45! Crazy people! I have 2 more pre-crowing juveniles to rehome...How exciting...congrats!! I'm so glad you got to see one hatch!!! It is so sweet to watch them push their way out of the egg into the world. Maybe it will be a pulletI just discovered another roo in my group...just great! I have a chicken friend coming to pick him up tomorrow. He takes all of my baby roos...thankfully! He is bringing me two pullets to replace....one is a SLW! Can't wait!![]()
We are home tonight watching an HBO movie....relaxing evening!
