Setting up today 26 May 2012.... Anyone setting can join

Well new candler showed that i have two of the brown eggs with no germination. But I have lots of movement in the other 6 eggs. One week to go. IF i am due on the 17th, when should i bump up the humidity and go into lockdown. on the morning or evening of the 14th ? they were placed in the incubator at around 5pm on sunday the 27th.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing great. I cant wait to see what they look like. i will post plenty of pics once things start to happen.

Granddaughter spent the night Saturday night and she wanted to candle the eggs, I was planning on candling on Sunday, but hey ok. It really looks to me like all 10 are growing, I am going to try to get hubby to candle with me tonight , one last time before we lock down on Wed. Hoping fresh eyes and fresh prospective. Temp has been holding good, So when we lock down, we take the eggs out of the turner and remove it, do we need to change temp or anything else? I'm getting excited anxious here, lol.My hatch date is the 16th, Saturday and unfortunately I will be out of town all that day, since we set the eggs rather late in the evening, I am hoping hatch will be later in the evening.
Really enjoying this thread, Keep the hatching stories coming!

I candled last night as well. I have 7 Cream Legbar eggs and six look great...one is pretty iffy. I wanted to take it out, but DH insisted we give it a few more day. To me it looks like it quit around day 10.

I put my eggs in the hatcher on the morning of day 19. I keep a chart so its easier for me to remember ;D I'll candle again when I take them out of the incubator and throw them into the hatcher. Mind you this is only my second hatch but there is a lot of good information here on BYC. I had 4 make it to the hatcher (out of 6) last batch. 3 hatched. Lost one. Super excited for the next batch. I did have a temp spike last week to 104 (I'm not sure for how long) but as of yesterday it didn't seem to have affected anybody.

I did the dry method last time and am following same reasoning this time. I add water if my humidity drops under 25% but otherwise I don't touch it. The hatcher maintains a minimum humidity of 60% which rose to like 80ish once babies started hatching. I'm guessing that's why they took seemingly forever to dry but they are all three still doing great!! I'll have my work cut out for me if all 24 hatch. Then 20 behind them then 24 + when I set the next batch tonight or tomorrow. You shoulda seen the look on hubby's face when I told him to pick up some eggs at the grocery. He didn't even bother to ask if he could eat the 24 on the counter :D

THE EVENING OF THE 14TH

Just put mine into lock down. I am down to 4 from 12, 5 were infertile and 3 had stopped mid-way. 2 of the ones in lock down are questionable, but we will see.

Can't wait to see what everyone hatches out. I wanted to candle again tonight, but I will wait until tomorrow night. :) I have one that is iffy and if it still looks the same tomorrow I will remove it before I lockdown. No need in it taking up space in there.

I also have another incubator going with about 44 eggs in it...they are a staggered hatch and it looks like tomorrow at leas three of them (silkie/showgirl) eggs will be going under a broody hen in the coop.
