I have a roughly 10 wk old cochin chick,
I am stumped on gender, they're much smaller than the other chicks and a slow growth rate. I'm starting to wonder if they're a bantam breed?

Where did you get it?

I'm thinking either Cochin, or Langshan. Largefowl.
I received this chick from someone who couldn't keep them along with a buff orph and a barred Brahma. All of which are the same age but the other two are twice the cochin's size and fully feathered.
She did not really explain where they came from but by the way she described it, a breeder.

Are you sure you got a Barred Brahma 🤔 Those are incredibly rare in the US. As for this one's breed, it looks to be a Black Cochin, just confirm bottoms of feet are yellow! Also please post pictures of the Barred Brahma! I suspect the breed or cross is something different :) If your overseas though, it could be!
Exactly what I thought! I never saw a barred brahma here in the U.S.

Please post some pics of all the chick so we could compare

I think the one you are questioning is a black cochin pullet. maybe a bantam black cochin
