We had a broody hen hatch 7 eggs. All of the chicks are 6 weeks old now and we are trying to figure out how many are pullets/cockerels. We are thinking all of them are pullets except for our one French Copper Marans which has a large red comb and big waddles. We have (2) Blue laced red Wyandottes, pictures 1 and 7, (2) EE/Brahma cross, pictures 4 and 5, (2) Black Copper Marans, pictures 3 and 6, and (1) Russian Orloff, picture 2. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

(I don't have experience with any of these breeds, so if there's an specific colouring etc. I would miss it.) But bearing that in mind
1 possibly cockerel? 2 pullet, 3 pullet, 4 pullet, 5 pullet, 6 cockerel
7 undecided, it legs look suspiciously thick but maybe that's a breed thing.

Ivyleechick look @ this thread for your wyandottes, might give you a better idea

Also if they are all together watch for fighting, sometimes even the young roosters will raise hackles and jump at one another. Sometime little pullets will but mostly the roosters do.

#6 I would say is definitely a cockerel. The others look like pullets. Your wyandottes though not sure, as dark as the feathering is I think possibly roos.

I have attached updated pictures of all of the chicks at 8 weeks. I am starting to question whether some of the ones I thought were pullets are actually pullets. What are your thoughts? I am going to try to post updated pictures every 2 weeks until we know for sure who is a pullet/roo.

Yes my bad. Looking again @ 6. Yep cockerel. The 4 is harder to tell honestly. Not sure if it's the angel or the location of the shot (lighting) but need a better shot from above (if you can get it. I know chickens tend not to cooperate when you want to get a good photo).
