Sexing Ameraucana chicks

I believe the feather sexing for day old chicks is the other way around- same length (even) indicates a male, differing length (uneven) equals a female

You can sex the chicks at just days old by taking there wings and seeing if the wing feathers are even (which means its a female) and if the wing feathers are uneven (which means its a male) hope this helped
But it doesn't work for Ameraucanas...

Any idea on this baby? I go back and forth on my guess

CEOBrown, I'm guessing hen. It's been a few weeks since you posted this, what is the answer??

Hello all, I have a question about Americanas hoping to get some clarification on. Yesterday I picked up two 12 week old Americanas to add to my flock. They are suppose to be hens buy I have my doubts.

I have a hard time telling by their combs but they do have some little buttons forming on their legs. I don't know if you can see it in the pictures or not.

Why doesn't feather sexing work? My new hatchling is light gray with some light brown around the wings. Does that indicate anything?
