Hello!
I’m hoping someone with more quail knowledge can help me learn

move attached some pictures and numbered them. I numbered the same quail the same number in each pictures.
The little guys are difficult to snap pictures of. 😂

Is 5 still considered silver? It has some barring that the other silvers don’t have.

thanks for any help.

The ones with the white ‘Bibs’ I don’t know they are actually called. They are males correct?

I'm just starting to learn about color morphs and how to ID sex in button quail myself. Hopefully some more experienced folks will come in here and teach both of us some things.

#1 Silver Male. Birds with the white stripe under the beak and the pencil 'outline' of the bib usually are males. I have read that a white bib can show up in either males or females in some of the newer color morphs
#2 Dark-headed phenotype. I do not know the full name. Could be either male or female. Check the vent feathers for brick red color (male).
#3 Looks a lot like my silver pearl hen, but this is an educated guess. I defer to others.
#4 Golden Pearl male!
#5 Looks a lot like #3. Best guess is silver pearl female.
#6 Golden Pearl male.
#7 Female, looks like wild-type color to me. Defer to others.
#8 Female red-breasted.

Hope I got these right.
